October 2009 Worms Are For Wimps Newsletter

Dear Mezcal Aficionados and Enthusiasts,

Updates on  Mezcals and Scorpion Mezcal in the News!

Scorpion Mezcal Anejo 7 Year was featured in the September issue of Maxim Magazine, an article called Mezcal 2.0.  Great article on Mezcals announcing that Mezcal is mounting a major comeback and a nice guacamole recipe included.

Food Network Magazine, a Hearst Publication, featured Scorpion Mezcal Anejo 1 Year in their Sept. issue.  Balancing the page of Southwestern cooking recipes (Chili Rellenos in Tomato Broth and Jicama-Orange Salad), they pair 2 Tequilas and Scorpion Mezcal under the “What To Drink” column.

Bar Business Magazine, July/August issue wrote up “Worms are for Wimps!” featuring the whole line up of Scorpion Mezcals, describing the brand as “ world-class sipping masterpieces”.

Sante Magazine reviewed all four of the MARIA Mezcals plus the new award wining MIJES Mezcals giving Mijes Joven a Gold Star Award!  Previous award for Mijes Joven was a Double Gold award given at the WSWA tasting competition in April.

Not to be left out, ORO DE OAXACA Mezcal won BEST AGAVE SPIRIT  of show at this summers Los Angeles Tasting Competition.  Oro de Oaxaca beat out all the Mezcals and Tequilas that entered.  I guess that worms are NOT for wimps after all since Oro de Oaxaca has a worm in each bottle and a bag of worm salt on the neck!!  In this case, worms certainly are for WINNERS!!
